((This takes place before my character becomes a Mew. I'm going to take control of the girls for a second as NPCs, just to show them in the cafe. I really hope that I'm doing this right...))
Licorice scanned the park, a glum look on her face. It had been two months since she'd been stranded, and things were far from looking up for her. She'd been working part-time as a waitress in a tiny restaurant on the third floor of one of the skyscrapers that dotted the Tokyo skyline and as a cashier in the department store below that, barely making enough money to scrape by. To top it all off, she'd been blamed for stealing money from the register in the department store, so she was to be fired without pay from BOTH jobs.
The sugary sweet scent of baked goods wafted towards her, lifting up her spirits slightly. Walking toward it, she spotted the cute little cafe.
Maybe I can get a job there! she thought, picking up her pace. Idly, she wondered what sort of job she would get.
Maybe another waitressing job? That would suck, but... Her thoughts were interrupted as she tripped over a stick in her path. Tumbling over, she landed on her knees. The metal zipper edge of her shorts bit into her skin through her striped stockings, leaving a neat row of red indentations.
" Oooww..." she hissed, shifting her legs into a sitting position and rubbing her knees. She noticed that she was pretty close to the building she had been headed for. The doors were open, showing many customers within.
Guess this place is pretty popular, huh?
Getting up and dusting herself off, she entered the cafe. Parties of people seated at the tables called out for food and drinks while five waitresses scurried about. Okay, really only three of them scurried--one, wearing a blue uniform, sat at a table herself and sipped a cup of what Licorice presumed was tea, while another, sporting a purple variant of the dress, casually dropped cakes and cups at random tables.
Just as one of the waitresses was hurrying by, Licorice reached out to stop her. The girl, wearing a green uniform and big glasses, tripped, sending the contents of the trey she'd been carrying flying onto the floor.
" Dude, I'm sorry! Let me help..." Licorice squeaked, stooping to help the green-haired girl.
After the mess had been mostly taken care of, Licorice leaned toward the waitress.
" Can I speak to your manager?" she asked quietly. The green-haired girl looked confused. Licorice mentally kicked herself.
Of course, she thought bitterly, she doesn't know any English, and I still don't know any Japanese...
Looking back up, she noticed that the green-haired girl had already taken off.
" ... Crap."
((If you wish to take control of any of the actual characters, feel free to do so. Otherwise, I'll have to risk getting into Shirogane-san's character myself...))
